Meet the chief collector

Dori Rootenberg is the company's CEO and founder. She is also a collector and her challenges in collecting art inspired the idea behind CollectorCollector. For many years, as the owner and operator of Jacaranda Tribal, Dori's passion for African art grew. However, when she needed to effectively manage a large inventory of collectibles, her frustrations did too.

A business was born—with a simple mission: give collectors the best online tools available to manage their collections.

Dori holds a BA in Art History from Drew University and a degree in Advertising and Communications from The Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC. Her career includes a variety of senior management positions at J.C. Penney as well as a stint as CEO of Jacaranda Tribal, a leading dealer in antique art from Africa, Oceania and North America.

Today, works from Dori's personal collection are exhibited at the Neuberger Museum of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Museum of Arts and Design. And her personal experiences as a collector have helped shape a business that will help your endeavors as a collector.
